PIE FACE

When new managers took over Australian food company Pie Face last year they wanted new branding and a different look for their restaurants to reflect the change they envisaged — something that was clean and fresh. And Villa+Villa was asked to help.

In Australia, a pie is usually a fast food item — something you buy to eat on the run. But overseas it’s a different matter. Pies are not so usual, and Villa+Villa had to consider cultural differences when designing the exteriors and interiors of Pie Face’s restaurants, which includes its franchises around the world.

The familiar and friendly old pie face logo is still there, but the restaurants have been given a more upmarket feel that appeals to Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
